In 2006, WAG supreme Victoria Beckham ruled the World Cup stands in micro shorts, tiny tank tops, and an XXL Birkin. Last night, with family in tow, she embraced the modern V.B. look.
2006 was the defining year for the English WAGs: Victoria Beckham, Coleen Rooney, Abbey Clancy, Cheryl Cole, et al arrived to the small German town of Baden-Baden glammed, glossed, and spray-tanned. Beckham, then seven years married to David, mother to toddlers Brooklyn and Romeo, and de factor leader of the Wives and Girlfriends, was instantly recognizable in the stands: an “England Rock$” tank, teensy white shorts, an oversized white Birkin (the first of many), and XXL sunglasses.
Past that folkloric time, and WAG style looks very different now at the 2026 World Cup: from Tolami Benson’s cool Gen-Z style and custom designed pieces in tribute to fiancé Bukayo Saka, to Jude Bellingham’s girlfriend Ashlyn Castro’s cargo pants and Y2K dresses.
Last night, though, Victoria Beckham returned to the stands to refine her iconic WAG style. She was joined by David, Romeo, Cruz (plus his girlfriend Jackie Apostel), and Harper for the World Cup quarter final match between Norway and England at Miami Stadium. V.B. wore her own designs, naturally: a mushroom gray, silky draped sleeveless top paired with close-fitting, high-waisted white pants and light-lensed aviator sunglasses. Jewelry was sparing, with a delicate gold necklace and diamond bracelet. While ’06 V.B. wore chunkier highlights through her dark brunette waves, today, she sports a more delicate chocolate brown to tawny blonde balayage in more natural waves.
David, beside her and locked into the match, stayed committed to his own ’fit despite the sweltering heat in a navy suit. Cruz and Romeo opted for England jerseys. Harper—who recently celebrated her birthday—wore an England track jacket paired with a tank top and low-rise denim jeans.
It proved a winning look for Victoria, who was just about able to muster some interest in England’s glorious triumph over Norway 2-1. (Beckham has been busy with her resort collection and executing her inaugural Stateside retail presence with a pop-up at Bal Harbour Shops.) While she’s certainly passed on the baton, nothing beats the original Vicky B.
