The Ragtime revival scored the second-most nominations with 11, followed by nine-time nominees Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman and Cats: The Jellicle Ball.
The awards are being handed out starting with the Act One preshow, hosted by Laura Benanti and Tituss Burgess, followed by the main telecast, airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+, hosted by Pink from Radio City Music Hall.
In addition to the competitive awards, this year’s 79th annual Tony Awards ceremony will feature performances celebrating the anniversaries of The Book of Mormon, Chicago and A Chorus Line.
