Nike has officially taken its first public step into the future of footwear manufacturing with its 3D-printed sneaker from its innovative Air Works Program, developed in partnership with additive manufacturing specialist Zellerfeld.

Revealed via social media by Blue Room‘s Motoi Hatsuki, the prototype silhouette showcases a sleek, monochromatic model. The sneaker features a one‑piece 3D‑printed construction, eliminating traditional stitching and overlays for a streamlined, slip‑on profile. Hatsuki’s design draws inspiration from the Air Max 1000 and Tailwind V, incorporating exaggerated heel and forefoot Air bubbles, including a glowing neon yellow unit at the rear. The side panels showcase a paisley‑style looping motif, adding ornamental depth to the otherwise minimal structure. Branding is kept subtle, allowing the experimental form and texture to take center stage.

As part of Nike’s broader Air Works initiative, which brought eight global creatives to Beaverton to collaborate with Nike engineers. Each participant will receive limited friends‑and‑family runs of their concepts, with previews rolling out ahead of Air Max Day 2027.
