Bode’s SS27 collection reimagines the 1865-1890s American cowboy era, blending ornate Western styles with contemporary, wearable staples.
Signature details include playful cow prints, subtle rodeo motifs, heavy suede and leather fringing, and intricately decorated denim.
As a continuation of the FW26 Rodeo Bodeo concept, Bode designer Emily Adams Bode Aujla explores signature Western styles with a timeless touch for SS27. Centering on “the peak of the American cowboy era” (circa 1865 – 1890s), the latest range features strong cowboy cultural references combined with the ornate embellishments and durable materials of the time.
Standing out immediately is a women’s look featuring a brown cow print bikini and jacket, a high-exposure contemporary number that grounds this time-hopping collection in the present. The pattern continues in a men’s look comprising a jacket and shorts outlined by matching green trims and styled with a green striped tee. Other fabrics incorporate cowboy motifs like rope tricks and horses in colorful patterns. Some executions are more discreet than others: a gray animal print is superimposed with blue cowboys in mid-lasso form, which are only visible with a closer glimpse.
Suede and leather fringe play a major role in imbuing the broader collection with a cowboy feel. Brown leather riding pants are emphasized with a short fringe finish up the legs, while multiple jackets, including a red blouson with a decorative yoke, feature more dramatic fringe moments. Denim also continues as a main staple for SS27, featured in a camp-collar long-sleeve adorned with star rivets at the pocket and a chore jacket, decorated with folk-style trims around the collar, pockets, and cuffs.
Styled with a certain ease true to the present, the overall collection goes heavy on Western-inspiration through statement pieces while grounding it in a foundation of wearable staples like the t-shirts, trousers, and tailored ensembles.
