The rapper also addressed her weight loss.
Cardi B is setting the record straight about the procedures she’s had — and had reversed — on her rear-end.
In a recent Instagram Live, the hip-hop star sounded off on haters who’ve been speculating about her body since her weight loss in the past few months, which she attributed to a clean diet as well as the stress of touring and going through a breakup from ex Stefon Diggs. She went on to address people who “keep telling [her] to go get my a– reduced” now that her narrower figure makes her backside look even more prominent.
“I don’t need to go get my a– reduced,” she said on the livestream. “News flash: I did get my a– reduced.”
Cardi denied that she’d gotten any cosmetic surgery recently, telling viewers that she last went under the knife in January 2024 to have her butt reduced. She previously had surgery in August 2022 to remove most of the polymers she’d had injected in 2018.
“Unlike certain celebrities, I can’t just go and lipo my butt, because my skin is like kinda loose,” she continued on her livestream, referencing liposuction, a medical procedure to remove fat from certain areas of the body. “That’s why my a– shakes so much. So if I just go and get a lipo reduction, that is the easy way, my a– could drop. So I would have to cut myself, and I’m not cutting myself. I’m not sitting down for four months. I’m outside, like I said.”
“I like my body how it looks right now,” the rapper added. “I’m comfortable in my skin. Stop hating.”
Some of the confusion may have come from Cardi saying in February that she wanted to travel to Colombia to have her butt implants taken out after her Little Miss Drama Tour wrapped. But the following month, the Grammy winner explained that she’d changed her mind in an appearance on TODAY.
“I was saying that, but I’m not going to do it,” she said at the time. “I was just gonna take a little bit of butt out, but I don’t have time for that. I feel really comfortable where I’m at right now with my body and everything.”
Cardi’s latest tour ran from February to April across North America, grossing more than $70 million across 453,000 tickets sold, according to Billboard Boxscore. The trek supported the Bronx native’s sophomore album, Am I the Drama?, which debuted atop the Billboard 200.
She’s now gearing up to release new single “Ah Ha,” which arrives Friday (July 31) at midnight.
