Inside Tallulah Willis and Justin Acee’s Woodland Wedding at the Bride’s Family Home in Idaho

Writer, artist, and advocate Tallulah Willis and musician Justin Acee’s first in-person meet-up was at Delta baggage claim. After the pair matched, Justin immediately invited Tallulah for coffee—but at the time, she was staying at her childhood home in Idaho. “We texted until 2 a.m. and decided to get on the phone,” Tallulah recalls. “I heard his voice for the first time, and at 4 a.m. we got on FaceTime. We spoke every day until I left and decided that we would officially meet in person for the first time at LAX.” Justin came to pick her up at the airport, and the rest is history. “I did a little weird dance move when I saw him,” Tallulah remembers of their meeting in January 2023. “He laughed instantly, and then we moseyed outside and snuck in a first kiss!”

They got engaged in December 2024, almost two years after they started talking, and their wedding was held on August 8, 2026, in the backyard of the bride’s family home in Hailey, Idaho. “It’s the place where I learned to run free and be the dreamer that I am today,” Tallulah says. “Justin and I have spent so much time up there that even though it has such emotional pull for me, he feels very much a part of the fabric of the property.”

They began planning the wedding in January of 2026. “We toyed with the idea of making it simple and eloping,” Tallulah explains. “But deep down, I really loved the chance to be an eleganza.” Once they’d landed on the location, the couple worked with event planner Heather Minor, who is based in Sun Valley, to create their dream wedding weekend out West.

“After my mom broke the news that Balenciaga was game to make my gown, I sent some reference images of iconic 1950s Cristóbal Balenciaga designs, and not long after, we were sent a deck of about seven sketches,” Tallulah recalls. “I pulled my two favorite elements, including the jeweled petal design on the skirt and the dramatic drapery around the hips, and didn’t see anything else until the day we walked into Pierpaolo’s office in Paris. With the light dappling down from a sunroof, my dress was presented in all her glory. After some minor tweaks to best support my 5-foot-4-inch proportions, we tried on the leather gloves and the veil.” (The neckline was inspired by a Balenciaga look Tallulah’s mother wore to the Vanity Fair Oscar party, a simple black sheath with a sculptural Balenciaga neckline, and the final look took 712 hours to create.)

For jewelry, Tallulah’s approach was less is more. She didn’t wear anything on her neck so as to keep the focus on the beautiful architectural silhouette of the curved bodice. Instead, she wore what she describes as “mega diamond teardrop earrings” from XIV Karats. For beauty, Tallulah went for minimal coverage as she was painstakingly devoted to her skincare routine in the months leading up to the wedding: Makeup artist Raoul Alejandre simply added a little brown and red around the rim of the lids to offset her blue eyes. As for hair, Tallulah knew she wanted it out of her face, but not too modern or sleek, so Dimitri Giannetos created a messy but secure updo with strategically positioned delicate flyaways. “Both Raoul and Dimitri are legends,” Tallulah says. “Having them as my glam team for the day felt like being in a fairytale!”

Meanwhile, Justin wore a suit by Dzojchen, styled by Masha Manduzka. They were able to, from measurements alone, create a bespoke tuxedo for him as well as tuxedos for his father and two brothers.

The ceremony began at 6 p.m. and took place on a small island in the backyard at Tallulah’s family home. “It’s connected to the rest of the property by a small wooden bridge,” Tallulah explains. “For the walk from my mom’s bedroom—where we got ready—to the bridge, I was gratefully accompanied by [Demi and Tallulah’s stylist] Brad Goreski. When we got to the other side of the bridge, I was fluffed to perfection, and then sent on my way down the aisle to greet my husband-to-be, and our dear friend Jeremy, who was our officiant. Once I got to the moss-covered platform, I could feel my heart beating out of my chest. Thankfully, we had planned to do a meditation at the start of the ceremony to ground us and hopefully expunge any butterflies in the tummy.”

Then, Jeremy went off script—at least to Tallulah and Justin—and announced that someone very special had written something for them. “My body froze as I looked instantly at the front row and saw my mom smiling like the cat that got the canary,” Tallulah remembers. “I couldn’t believe my ears as a single guitar riff filled the surrounding speakers, and Chris Martin’s soulful voice followed elegantly. The first line of the song was, ‘Tallulah and Justin, walking down the aisle…’ My jaw dropped open, as I have deeply loved Coldplay since I was in middle school. I actually chose their song ‘A Message’ to walk down the aisle too, just moments before. My mom pulled off something incredible by facilitating this surprise, this gift, and Justin and I started laughing out of pure bliss. I will never forget that moment.”

The bride and groom then shared vows they’d written themselves. “I am told that there was not a dry eye out there,” Tallulah says. “But I couldn’t say for sure because my eyes were glued on the man across from me. With shaking hands, we exchanged rings, and after we were announced as bride and groom, Justin swung me down off the platform in one fluid motion, dipped me, smooched me, and then we both began to cheer surrounded by our beautiful bunch of friends and family.”

After recessing up the aisle, the newlyweds ran back across the bridge hand in hand. “We were squealing with delight at the surreal, fantastic moment unfolding all around us,” Tallulah remembers. “We then went into the house to take a little private breather before the cocktail hour began. Then, Scout and my mom signed our marriage license as witnesses—and huzzah! We were officially Mr. and Mrs.”

When cocktails concluded, guests moved to the backside of the property near the river for dinner and speeches by Justin’s dad, Tallulah’s mom, his two brothers, and her two sisters, Rumer and Scout. After that, the couple cut the cake, and then, the next chapter of the night officially began.

While the bride’s sisters stayed in their Balenciaga bridesmaids’ looks all night, after the ceremony, when the time felt right and just as the sun was finally setting, Tallulah scurried back into the house and threw on her micro mini Vivienne Westwood party dress, sourced from LOHO Bride. “It had a super snatchy waist, with an undergarment made of crinoline that made the mini skater skirt really flare out,” she says. “It was fun, in visual language and to wear. I was barefoot sprinting around the dance tent, and then after a long time searching, Brad finally came back with my after-party bouncy short veil with a bow built in.”

The dance tent was decorated in draped fabric by Eric Buterbaugh with strings of neon orange flowers and lights at the entrance. Family friend Samantha Ronson DJ, and “Take Care” by Beach House served as the couple’s first dance song. “A super sweet romantic song,” Tallulah says. “But with planned dancing, Justin just picked me up and swung me around when the mood struck. It was everything and more.”

As for how Tallulah is feeling now, in the days after the celebration? “I am overwhelmed with gratitude and delight to begin this next chapter,” she says. “The wedding was more than my wildest dreams.”
