Kylie Jenner Is Staying Loyal to This Early 2000s Pedicure

In Turks and Caicos, the beauty entrepreneur put a modern twist on a rather controversial nail trend.

The Story

Has the time for a French pedicure revival arrived? Kylie Jenner surely thinks so. Earlier today, the beauty entrepreneur shared photos from a recent trip to Turks and Caicos—including a shot of her retro pedi.

Unlike French manicures, which have long maintained their reputation as a nail art classic, French pedicures—defined by the same pinkish base and white tip—have proven more divisive, with some camps preferring they remain firmly in the early 2000s.

Yet this isn’t the first time Jenner’s given the look her stamp of approval; in the summer of 2024, she stepped out with a white, square-shaped version of the style. She kept the same nail shape for her recent trip, but gave things a more modern edge by choosing a silvery shade for the tips. If we had to guess, Jenner’s polish was done by go-to nail artist Zola Ganzorigt (who also did her gem-tipped manicure for the trip).

Though the jury’s still out on whether a full French-pedicure renaissance is on its way, metallics are undeniably among the top nail color choices for summer. This year, silvery and gold tones were spotted on Met Gala attendees like model Ashley Graham and WNBA star A’ja Wilson.

For her own part, Jenner went with a subdued nude manicure for the Met—but she did dip a toe into another controversial beauty choice: bleached brows. Now, we can only wonder what she’ll have us contemplating next.
