L’Rain Plots Tour, Enlists Arooj Aftab for New Video
The “Borderline” video also features Cécile McLorin Salvant and Tasha
L’Rain will embark a cross-country trek this fall in support of their forthcoming LP. Accompanying the news is a new song from Fata Morgana, the album she is releasing on August 14. “Borderline,” a slightly less hectic offering than the salvo of “Soulless Cycle,” comes with a Mackai Sharp-directed, time-lapse video that features the chain-sawing of an ice sculpture. Guests in the video include Arooj Aftab, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Tasha, Rena Anakwe, and E. Jane. The video is dedicated to L’Rain’s mother, Lorraine, “who loved chewing on ice and for whom the project is named,” a press release notes.
