The Story

After a triumphant Copa América collaboration in 2024, adidas and Someone Somewhere are back together, bringing indigenous craft to the World Cup stage. Coinciding with the launch of Team Mexico’s new jersey, the duo are spotlighting craft and community in a special hand-embroidered Third Kit Collection, elevating performance wear into literal works of art.

Someone Somewhere is a social impact label that collaborates with rural artisans and textile workers across Mexico to translate traditional craft techniques into contemporary garments and accessories, and for the new adidas Originals collection, the organization partnered with 150 women artisans from Naupan in Puebla’s Sierra Norte region for a six-piece drop, collectively graced with over 100,000 hand-embroidered details. Each limited-edition piece is complete with a unique QR code that allows the wearer to meet the craftsperson — the someone, from somewhere behind the piece — adding a deeply personal element to the lineup.

The capsule is anchored by the Artisan JSY, a limited-edition rework of the national third kit jersey. Taking after the original, it features a relaxed polo collar and an all-over “MX” graphic, along with the “Somos México (We Are Mexico)” text across the back, unifying the home and away kits. Most notably, the entire collection features various embellishments, including an embroidered Trefoil logos, Mexico National Team crest and floral detailing along the shoulders.

With spirits high for the collaboration, Someone Somewhere has also introduced a seventh long-sleeve addition to the collection. Limited to an edition of 2026, 500 shirts are dropping every week and are now available exclusively through the organization’s website.

The full Mexico National Team Third Kit Collection is available now through adidas and select retailers. Head to adidas’ webstore to cop a piece.
