For the unveiling of her star, Miley Cyrus had Donatella Versace handpick her Atelier Versace fall 2015 gown—an outfit for a rock star of any era.
Yesterday, Miley Cyrus was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In an emotional speech, she referenced her own song “Walk of Fame,” which ends with the lyric “you’ll live forever.”
"This star somehow represents immortality, and although I love the lyric, the fact that I won’t is what creates the urgency that sets my heart on fire,” she said.
“What feels so special to me about this star is that it’s an accumulation of devotion. A star isn’t something that you win like a seasonal game. It’s not something that you can chase or collect. It’s not something you make the next record for,” she said.
“My name is laid in gold and pink terrazzo, and it’s fierce, and it’s fun, and it’s fabulous,” Cyrus continued. “And I’m in Versace hand-picked from the atelier archives by Donatella herself, which makes it even more fun, and even more fierce and even more fabulous.”
Cyrus wore an Atelier Versace gown from the fall 2015 collection—a sexy deep cut, previously seen on supermodel Heidi Klum that same year. But this is a gown made for a true rock star: the dress—very much a naked dress— was made up of sinewy black webbed material and embroidery, with a criss-crossing neckline. She paired it with studded stilettos. Cyrus’s makeup followed her usually smoked out, siren style, with a hazy eye and nude lip. She wore brow-skimming bangs and her blonde hair tousled.
Cyrus posed giddily with her star, and even brought her fiancé Max Morando out for a few pics.
Miley’s mother Tish Cyrus, sister Brandi, Donatella Versace, and Anya Taylor-Joy were also among those honoring the star. Donatella donned a structured, gold embellished white mini-dress with towering platform boots, while Taylor-Joy opted for showgirl-y, sequinned Bob Mackie and a perspex shoe.

Working with longtime stylist Bradley Kenneth, the Miley Cyrus school of style spans every era’s iteration of rock goddess: from head-to-toe leathers, to a subversive take on power suiting. For the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premiere in LA, she wore a campy-chic spin on Hannah Montana’s signature style—sporting a gown from the Rabanne spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection, she swapped out the original T-shirt for a custom graphic tee bearing her own face. Most recently, at the Dior 2027 cruise show, she donned some groovy double denim.
Cyrus is a dab hand at diving into vintage, with a particular penchant for Mugler, Roberto Cavalli, Alaia, Bob Mackie, and more. But immortalizing herself in famed terrazzo, it could only be Versace.
