We have the first winners for the 47th annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards. The News categories were in the spotlight Wednesday at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City, which also is set to host the Documentary ceremony on Thursday night. See the list of winners thus far below.
Emmy-winning ABC News journalist Martha Raddatz received the News Emmys lifetime achievement award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Amber Ruffin was the emcee for Wednesday’s show, and her fellow Have I Got News for You co-host Michael Ian Black will helm Thursday’s ceremony that starts at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT and will stream on the NATAS YouTube channel.
National Geographic came into Wednesday’s trophy show with a leading 51 nominations — a record for the network, driven largely by the success of the Trafficked series.
