Rosalía Thanks Fans for ‘Understanding’ Postponed Tour Dates: ‘Loved Ones Need to Come First’

The Spanish singer's show in Boston marked her official U.S. tour opener after she was forced to cancel three dates in Florida due to a family emergency

The Story

Rosalía returned to the stage in Boston, Massachusetts to kick off the U.S. leg of her Lux world tour. The Spanish singer had not performed in a month since wrapping her European dates back in May. She was originally set to open her U.S. tour with a June 4 stop in Miami, but was forced to postpone the shows at the last minute “due to a family emergency.” Trending Stories Jaimoe Is the Last Original Allman Brothers Member. As Rosalía debuted new outfits and a slightly different stage design, she also made a point to address her “absence” from the stage. “It’s such an honor for me to be able to perform for you,” she began. “Unfortunately, I had to be absent last week. Thank you for understanding. Loved ones need to come first,” she said. Rosalía continued: “And being here with you, I think that when something unexpected and painful happens, it can be hard to keep going. But I truly believe that this is worth it. And I thank you for coming. I’m going to do this show with all the love that I have. And hopefully there’s something in it that you can take with you, I hope. Honestly, that would make me happier. I love you guys so much.”

Next week, the Spanish singer will hit New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden before she continues the tour in major U.S. cities like Chicago and Los Angeles this summer.
