Squirrel Flower Announces New Album Say a Prayer to the Gods of Getting Going

Watch Ella Williams wander under a double rainbow in the video to lead single “Reelin”

The Story

Ella Williams’ is back with her latest Squirrel Flower record. Say a Prayer to the Gods of Getting Going includes contributions from Horse Jumper of Love’s Dimitri Giannopoulos, the War on Drugs’ Dave Hartley, Free Range’s Sofia Jensen, Twin Peaks’ Clay Frankel, and more. It arrives August 21 on Polyvinyl. Check out the video for lead track “Reelin” below, along with a full slate of fall tour stops (featuring supporting dates with the Beths, Spoon, and Ethel Cain).

“The lyrics started as an art piece I made on an overdue Kansas Turnpike toll bill,” Williams said in a statement about the new single. “This song is my ode to the push and pull of domesticity and unraveling. Leaving and getting reeled back in, over and over and over and over.”
