‘The Rings of Power’ Season 3 Trailer Is Full of Middle-earth Action, Simon Pegg Joins Cast

Sauron forges the One Ring and the forces of Middle-earth go to war in this first look at the new season of the Prime Video fantasy hit.

The Story

The One Ring gets forged in Prime Video‘s first trailer for season three of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

The action-packed footage (below) shows Middle-earth in open war as royal elf Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) leads her forces against the dark lord Sauron (Charlie Vickers).

The trailer was revealed during Amazon‘s showcase at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday.

The new season’s description: “Jumping forward several years from the events of Season Two, Season Three takes place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war, bind all peoples to his will – and at last rule all Middle-earth.”

The team announced the fiery Balrog will speak in the new season and will be voiced by fan-favorite actor Simon Pegg.

The third season will premiere globally on Nov. 11. As The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported, work on an as-yet-unofficial fourth season is well underway.

The first season is Prime Video’s biggest TV series premiere ever, while the second season is among the streamer’s top five most-watched returning seasons ever.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay. They are joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and executive producer-director Charlotte Brandstrom. Matthew Penry-Davey is producer and Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee are co-producers. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
