Willy Chavarria officially unveiled his Spring/Summer 2027 collection, “Comunión,” inside the striking, modernist curves of Paris’ Espace Niemeyer. Devoted entirely to the protective power of collective gathering and communal spirit in times of global chaos, the presentation elegantly reformatted Chavarria’s signature Chicano street-tailoring into an elevated, universal statement of optimism and fierce elegance.
The visual environment of the collection draws its energy directly from the familiar sanctuaries of home. Colors and prints evoke deeply nostalgic, intimate elements—fading kitchen walls, hand-stitched monogrammed handkerchiefs, and vibrant pillowcase florals. Executed in a confident palette of Willy Red, Purple Cielo, Plastic Pink, Copper Green, Celestial Blue, and Lilac, the apparel bridges hard-edged structural power with soft innocence. Standout pieces included pleated shift dresses with exaggerated shoulders, sophisticated knits, and a sheer trench coat crafted from vinyl flowers heat-imprinted into organza to mimic childhood stickers.
The brand’s rapidly expanding womenswear universe took center stage with an injection of chic, subversive styling. Silk dresses draped fluidly across the body alongside voluminous cocktail dresses, leather miniskirts paired with rugged work shirts, and sporty boxer shorts playfully peeking out from form-fitting pencil skirts.
The runway also marked the official debut of a major footwear partnership with UGG®. Billed as a true exploration of tension between “toughness and softness,” the capsule reframes classic sheepskin warmth through a radical, outlaw lens. Walked down the runway by a star-studded cast that included Romeo Beckham, NBA athlete Jordan Clarkson, and musician Judeline, the co-branded lineup previewed three distinct styles ahead of a Fall 2026 retail launch: the rugged Guard Boot, the heavy-duty Biker, and the plush Hotel Chavarria Slipper.
“We’ve designed this collection to be fierce and friendly. The archival influence of leather culture wrapped in the warmth and intimacy that only UGG can provide… This is my love letter to the outlaw in you.” Chavarria transformed the show into a multi-sensory ritual. Guests entered a space fully scented by botanical house XINÚ with notes of FlordeMusgo, and each seat held a Comunión palito—a unique ritual object hand-engraved from Mexican coastal driftwood. Backstage, the designer reunited with The Ordinary for a “Skin in Common” initiative, establishing a unified skincare preparation space where models and crew alike were treated at the same table by the same hands. This raw, radiant skin was complemented by M·A·C Cosmetics’ understated beauty looks, accented by a sharp tomato-red lip and rebellious, askew hairpieces designed by hair maestro Chris McMillan.
Breaking away from traditional fashion industry constraints, Chavarria leveraged cutting-edge retail technology immediately following the finale. Powered by Swap, the brand launched ai.willychavarria.com, an AI-powered virtual try-on platform. The digital space allows consumers to instantly engage with the runway choreography, virtually try on every look, and place direct pre-orders months before pieces land on traditional department store shelves.
