Hulu has officially unveiled the first trailer for Furious, an upcoming psychological crime thriller series that marks a major creative departure for mastermind showrunner Elizabeth Meriwether. Best known for creating the hit network comedy New Girl, Meriwether serves as creator and executive producer for the dark, neo-noir project, positioning Emmy Rossum at the center of a tense cat-and-mouse game that challenges the boundaries of morality and legal justice.

The series centers around Alice Black, portrayed by Emmy Rossum (Shameless), a determined but deeply conflicted FBI agent tasked with tracking down an exceptionally calculating and mysterious female serial killer. As Black deepens her investigation, the professional pursuit spirals into an existential obsession, pushing both women onto an inevitable collision course. The trailer highlights a dark, atmospheric palette and high-stakes tension, signaling a narrative framework where the definitive line between right and wrong rapidly destabilizes for everyone involved.

Behind the scenes, the high-profile production features an experienced creative framework. Director Brian Kirk—lauded for his past directorial work on Game of Thrones, Penny Dreadful, and The Day of the Jackal—is locked in to direct and executive produce the first two episodes of the season. In addition to starring as Agent Black, Rossum serves as an executive producer for Composition 8 alongside industry veterans Ronald Bass, Matt Olmstead, and Sam Hoffman. The premium television project also boasts a decorated supporting ensemble cast, incorporating Lola Petticrew, Scoot McNairy, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, and Jake Lacy.

Furious will officially debut with a special three-episode premiere on July 27 via Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. Following the initial rollout, new installments will drop weekly every Monday, leading up to the season finale on August 31.
