Beauty Marks: The Best Beauty Looks of the Week

This week in celebrity beauty saw everyone from Jessica Chastain, to Zendaya, Penelope Cruz, and Maude Apatow bat for team bob.

The Story

Welcome back to Beauty Marks: Vogue’s weekly edition of the best moments in celebrity beauty, from Vogue editors’ IG feeds, and all the glam of the fashion and pop culture landscapes. Each week, we curate the nail art to pin for your next nail appointment, new recruits to ‘Team Bob’, and major red carpet moments from the week’s most glamorous affairs. As always, it’s as much about celebrity beauty as it is about the makeup artists, hairstylists, and nail artists, as well as the creators crafting the trends you’re about to see everywhere.

This week, everyone from Jessica Chastain, to Zendaya, Penélope Cruz, and Maude Apatow came to bat hard for team bob.

“I don’t know about you……but I’m feeling 1922,” Chastain captioned her new, vintage-inspired chop on Instagram—a cheeky reference to Taylor Swift’s “22” on her big wedding day. (Chastain’s new look also recalls the waved crop Swift wore in her “Blank Space” video.)

Zendaya, meanwhile is on two overlapping press tour circuits for Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey. Stepping out for a commitment to do with the former, she donned some cobwebbed Galliano archival and wore her hair in a similarly nostalgic, ’30s silver screen star-esque bixie. Maude Apatow also embraced the romance of the old school, boarding a Belmond train in a silky, emerald green dress with a shiny, flicky bob to match. The Invite star Penélope Cruz, having also recently debuted a shoulder-grazing cut, styled hers with lots of texture.

Elsewhere in the world of celebrity beauty, Cara Delevingne glammed up for the wedding of the century, while Manon attended the destination Jacquemus show with radiant, summery skin. J-Lo, as always, is leading the way when it comes to high-drama talons.

A set of chocolate cherry nails by J-Lo go-to Tom Bachik. Espresso-toned lips and a shimmering highlight are by Mary Phillips.

To match her spidery vintage Galliano dress, a slick, ’30s silver screen star-esque bixie for Z: care of Ursula Stephen. Another dreamy, dewy complexion by Ernesto Casillas.

The Invite star Penélope Cruz just recently debuted a shoulder-grazing cut, and hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos (the master behind Gigi Hadid’s heart-shaped layers and Amal Clooney’s summer boho blowout) styled the new look with lots of texture.

Yoko Sakakura—a.k.a. Nails By Yoko on IG—is keeping the buttery nail trend in business. While pistachio nails and sky blue sets are on all the summer trend moodboards, Yoko offers up a fun, fresh twist on the enduring nail shade with intricate details and accents—little slabs of melting butter!

A flawless base and perfectly plumped lips on Angelina Kendall at the Jacquemus destination show—crafted by Ben Sun under the direction of Lauren Parsons.

Jacquemus guest glam for Manon: doll-like lashes and a light-catching highlight that blends smooth as silk into a candy pink blush, by Ngozi Edeme, while rippling, glossy curls are by Evanie Frausto. Dream team.

Wedding guest glam by makeup artist Jimmy Stam and hairstylist Danielle Priano for Cara, headed to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding rehearsal dinner. A precisely lined eye makes her eyes pop, and that slicked back braid is an elegant ode to one of Swift’s favorite styles.

Elle Quist models a poreless base and cool-toned look by Lila Childs, while Rosibel Del Jesus keeps the icy blonde sleek.

All aboard the Belmond train to Scotland! Maude Apatow is the next of the celebrity set to enjoy a dreamy jaunt through the country on one of the storied locomotives. For the occasion, she embraced old school nostalgic in an emerald green silk dress with just as glossy a bob to match. (Her chin-skimming cut is by Rena Calhoun.)

“I don’t know about you……but I’m feeling 1922,” Chastain captioned her new, vintage-inspired chop on Instagram—a cheeky reference to Taylor Swift’s “22” on her big wedding day. (Chastain’s new look also recalls the waved crop Swift wore in her “Blank Space” video. Perfectly cut and styled by Renato Campora, with a soft-touch pink blush, siren eyes, and glossed rose lip byKristofer Buckle.
