‘The Voice’ Scores Celebrity Edition At NBC; Joe Jonas Joins Queen Latifah & Riley Green As Coach With Keke Palmer Hosting

The Voice is rounding up a group of celebrities to star in the long-running NBC franchise for the first time and has tapped Joe Jonas to make his coaching debut.

The network is currently in production on The Voice: Celebrity, which will see actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality television stars competing instead of undiscovered talent.

The show, which will essentially be Season 31 of the long-running music competition series, will also have a new host. Password’s Keke Palmer, who had a guest mentor spot on the last season of American Idol and stars in Peacock’s The ‘Burbs, will host the show, in place of Carson Daly, who has hosted The Voice since its launch in 2011.

Jonas will be one of the coaches, alongside Queen Latifah and Riley Green, who are coaches for Season 30 of the show, which will launch this fall.

The Voice: Celebrity will air next year in the spring.

It marks one of the biggest changes to the John De Mol-created show, which has been a ratings banker for the broadcast network over the years. Internationally, there have been a number of spinoffs of The Voice, including a kids version, but those have not aired in the U.S.

 There will be new features such as Voice Boot Camp, which will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look as celebrities prepare for their Blind Auditions, while the VIP room brings artists together to watch their fellow celebrities take to The Voice stage.

Daly will serve as a producer on the season.

The Voice is produced by MGM Alternative, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television and ITV Studios. De Mol exec produces alongside showrunner Audrey Morrissey, Mark Burnett, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher and Barry Poznick.
