Julian Klausner has officially unveiled Dries Van Noten Men’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, delivering a presentation centered entirely on lightness, delicacy, and sensual ease. Heavily informed by Stéphane Mallarmé’s 1876 poem L’Après-midi d’un faune (The Faun’s Afternoon), the seasonal range explores the constant blurring between reality and imagination, reinterpreting traditional menswear through the hazy lens of waking up from an outdoor nap.

The collection completely rethinks archetypal masculine staples, giving them a soft, vertical, and floating silhouette. Familiar outdoor and utilitarian garments are fundamentally fluidified: a classic trench coat is rendered entirely transparent, a technical parka is cut from washed pongé silk, and a traditional hunting jacket is refashioned with a grosgrain belt or stripped of its sleeves entirely. Shimmering sequins mimic sunrays reflecting off water, while short shorts reveal bare legs beneath loose tailoring. The color palette mimics a cosmetic spectrum, blending soft blush and earthy tones with sudden flashes of intense nature greens and oceanic blues.

Klausner’s direction skillfully honors the founder’s legacy by introducing groundbreaking florals for the spring season. Moving away from standard seasonal prints, the collection takes inspiration from archival patterns and hypnotic sunset gradients. Intense, fiery orange hues melt into deep, liquid blues across the textiles, evoking the raw energy of nature. Wave patterns ripple through fluid tailoring, capturing an atmospheric twilight glow on the runway. This striking color orchestration grounds the dreamlike theme, ensuring the brand’s legendary mastery of color and textile juxtaposition remains entirely intact.

The rest of the garment lineup gives classic masculine wardrobe staples to match this midday haze. Deconstructed trench coats are rendered completely transparent, parkas are cut from washed pongé silk, and traditional hunting jackets are modified with raw, sleeveless cuts or grosgrain belts. Intimate lingerie undertones slip into the styling via soft charmeuse silks, tank tops, and delicate broderie anglaise lace along the necklines. Klausner rounds out the sensory experience with an eclectic mix of footwear—ranging from minimalist ballerina flats to naked sandals—complemented by oversized bags, extended gloves, and intricate charm jewelry crafted from found objects like keys, beer capsules, and real twigs.
